Black Friday has made a name as the busiest shopping day of the year, despite only being introduced in the UK in 2010. Visit almost any retailer, both online and offline, on Black Friday or Cyber Weekend and you’re bound to find some incredible deals — whether you’re after a new TV or some iced out jewellery.

Black Friday usually falls on the last Friday of November, the day after Thanksgiving in the United States. This year, Black Friday falls on the 27th November, with jewellery deals lasting over the weekend and into Cyber Monday on the 30th November.

In this blog post, we share our top tips on how to find amazing Black Friday jewellery deals.

Know What You Want

The first step to getting a good deal this Black Friday is to know what kind of jewellery you want. This doesn’t mean you need to know the specific piece, metal type, diamond clarity and so on; it could just be a general idea of the kind of style you’re after. For example, maybe you already own a gem-set gold belcher chain — this Black Friday you could shop for a chunky gold ring to complement it.

If you really want to get lucky this Black Friday, you’d better start researching right away. We always recommend monitoring prices of some of the items you’re interested in purchasing, at least a few weeks (or even months) in advance. This way you’ll be able to get a sense of whether the deals you find on Black Friday are actually as good as they seem.

Subscribe To Newsletters

Many online jewellers have regular e-newsletters to keep customers updated with the latest deals and new products. We’d recommend signing up for the newsletters of all of your favourite retailers ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday — this way you’ll get all of the top Black Friday jewellery deals straight in your email inbox. Some retailers even offer a discount code simply for signing up to the newsletter.

Keep An Eye On Instagram

Like with the email newsletters, Instagram will be home to thousands of incredible jewellery deals in the weeks ahead of Black Friday and over Cyber Weekend. Keep your eyes peeled and you’re almost guaranteed to bag yourself some incredible discounts. It’s important to be wary with new brands though, especially if they’re offering suspiciously cheap jewellery deals — always make sure to do your research to ensure they’re a reputable retailer.

Use Voucher Codes

Voucher code websites have always been a surefire way of getting a good discount. But in recent years, this has been taken a step further. Brands like Honey or Pouch offer Google Chrome Extensions that search the website for recently-used discount codes and automatically apply any relevant codes at checkout. All you need to do is install the extension, create an account and you’re good to go!

Check The Jeweller’s Returns Policy

Last but certainly not least, don’t forget to check the jewellery retailer’s returns policy! With the fast-paced environment of Black Friday where everyone is trying to get the best deal, it’s easy to rush into buying something without fully thinking it through. Maybe you didn’t read the full product description or just clicked through the first two product images, only to discover that it doesn’t live up to your expectations when it arrives. With this in mind, it’s absolutely crucial to check that your jeweller offers a returns policy.
